No matter what you do, do it with so much passion that, at the end, you know you gave it your best. Learn, believe, give.

Steven Cox is the founder and CEO of TakeLessons.com, a San Diego start up that has grown to be the largest nationwide music lessons provider. By connecting students with safe and qualified local instructors, the company aims to make a lasting impact on teachers and students alike. With innovative tools, resources, and online accounts, instructors are left with more time to focus on teaching and providing an excellent lesson experience for students.

The team at TakeLessons.com has been connecting music students with the best local music teachers since 2006. They pride themselves on providing safe, affordable, fun music lessons to students of all ages.

Their team stands for Respect, Perseverance, Embracing an Ownership Mentality, Constant and Never-Ending Improvement and Building Stuff They’re Proud Of. They also stand for Nerf-gun wars and lunchtime jam sessions. They celebrate each other every day, for any reason, and they celebrate music as a powerful way to inspire people, no matter who they are.

Prior to founding TakeLessons.com, Steven was Managing Partner of Reddito LLC, an e-commerce and Internet marketplace consulting firm with clients including Cisco, Club Med, Wells Fargo, and Intel. He was a founding employee of a business-to-business internet marketplace for local merchants that went public in 1999 as the 4th highest performing stock of that year. Steven served as Vice President of Business Development for CollegeClub.com, an early social network that was the 38th largest site on the net with over 8 million unique monthly visitors in 2000.

Steven's love for music was instilled at an early age, singing and playing bass guitar in the family gospel band with his parents and three brothers. For years, the family would play original songs and country gospel favorites in churches throughout the Midwest. After school, he and his band mate Enrique Platas released two alternative rock albums on Convertible Fly Records with one song making it to radio and another featured in an indie film.

Steven graduated with honors and degrees in Investment Finance and Human Communications from Eastern Kentucky University.
